Green for your DIY

I like DIY, especially for my home décor.  Pinterest definitely fuels the ideas and projects I attempt.  Being a renter, with limited space and increasing amounts of 'stuff' due to having a child now in the home, I am constantly looking for ways to maximize storage and available space, and minimize clutter.  I really try to work with what I already have, because I can't justify spending a lot of money on furniture that is custom to a rental layout when our plan (hope) is to move and buy.
