Cold weather is more fun for outfitting than warm/hot weather. I mean, I definitely love having some skin exposed in the warm months, but realistically, when it's 90+ degrees outside, you are going to limit your layers and accessories, because sweat is not a good look on anyone. Sundress, sun hat, shades, sandals - done.

When the temperatures drop, you have layer options galore: sweaters and vests and jackets and coats, hats and muffs and scarfs and gloves.

Staying Healthy During the Holidays (and Year Round)

'Tis the season of so much food! So much amazingly good food that we only seem to have this time of year (pumpkin IS available year round. We COULD eat pumpkin all year round.) And I love to eat, especially sweets. But I also love to feel good, to feel good about myself and to feel good physically: healthy and energized (plus I need it, to keep up with a two-year-old.) So while I do indulge during the holidays (come on, YOLO, right?) I balance it out with (mostly) healthy eating on a daily basis.

How to Wear (Faux)Leather Pants

First of all, let me apologize for the quality of these pictures. We visited 3 different homes for 3 different Thanksgiving meals this past weekend, and at the final stop (my parent's home) we forgot our camera and didn't have it for shooting these. So the iPhone had to step in. It's really amazing with all 3 (4 of us counting the dog) we don't forget more. We did forget the MangnaDoodle too, but we'll survive for a couple weeks until we see Grandma and Grandpa again. ;) (The camera is being mailed tomorrow. ;) )

Holiday Party Style v2

Are you still recovering from your food coma from yesterday? Or do you consider Thanksgiving meal just fuel for Black Friday shopping? ;) I confess I've never been much of a big Black Friday shopper - mostly I think because the Friday after Thanksgiving I'm still pretending like it's Thanksgiving and not looking towards the next holiday yet. It's still November. Christmas is like a month away! So I'm sorry to say you won't find any Black Friday deal promotions on my site here today, but I'm sure you will have no shortage. I think I can be overwhelming.

Wednesday Wishlist - Hostess Gift Ideas

I'm sharing these gift ideas on my Wednesday Wishlist because they're all items I'd want for myself!! Would it be weird if I threw a party and attached a link to this post in the invite? That's not tacky at all, right? LOL But seriously, when I think of gifts to give, especially for people who don't NEED anything, I like to get them something that is useful and (for the most part) practical, but might not be something they'd buy for themselves. A little something pretty for the home or to pamper themselves. And save for one item, everything here is under $50!
